This is a great study on indigenous Chinese Christianity. Lian offers an insider perspective, not merely focuses on Chinese believers' reaction to foreign missionaries, a model that most scholars take. His emphasis on eschatology has its place in the theology of indigenous churches, which closely links to the stress on charismatic religious experience.
