邁克‧何頓（Michael Horton）生於1964年，自牛津大學威克里夫學院（Wycliffe Hall, Oxford）與考文垂大學（Coventry University）取得博士學位。於1996年獲《今日基督教》雜誌列入「嶄露頭角：不超過40歲的五十個福音派領袖」。自1998年迄今，任教於加州威斯敏斯特神學院（Westminster Seminary California），神學與護教學的梅晨教席（J. Gresham Machen Professor of Theology and Apologetics），《現代宗教改革》（Modern Reformation）雜誌主編，全美廣播節目《白馬驛站》（White Horse Inn）主席兼主持人。著作超過20本。除本書外，《沒有基督的基督教》、《天路客的神學》、《福音的託付》、《福音導向的人生》、《核心基督教》、皆由麥種傳道會譯成中文出版。
