不同于东浩纪的现象—论述或反之，斋藤环《战斗美少女的精神分析》呈现出一种向心化的写作，序章之后的前五章以相对独立却有所重合的方式提供大量文本，史实，最终在每章的结尾悬置问题，指向同一中心——第6章，《论菲勒斯少女的出现》，犹如游戏的不同周目，不同故事线通关之后开启的“真结局”——一篇纯粹理论的论述文本。当然，《战斗美少女》的缺点也相当明显例如一些主观臆断，例如将“东方风格”一以“日本风格”概之等等，作为一本20年前的著作，斋藤环所列举的事例和对于御宅族群体的调查报告也正如他所说“御宅族群体存在着动态性”而有所过时。但《战》中对于御宅族同人“评论家”性质，以及战斗美少女“性与癔症”的整体分析，以及对于拉康，Henry Darger的引入依然开启了动漫/大众文化研究领域的诸多可能性。

读英文书真是太费劲了= =就算是这种感兴趣又不是很难读的书。动、漫的非时间性、高文本性、多重符码部分很有意思。动漫的虚构不是对现实的摹仿，而是另一种现实，有其自治逻辑，性的引入是使这另一真实得以真实的关键，这是美少女战士产生的前提。而美少女战士是动漫最神奇的发明：可爱/性和战斗/力的结合。她们倾向于作为一种空的存在，如绫波丽（emm作者狡猾地跳过了明日香）。至于书里关于歇斯底里、女性概念的部分，看不明白……

其實整本書就只有最後三十多頁在描述齋藤環自己的理論，其餘的都是小說、考究和小故事，雖然是挺好笑的。那三十多頁的確是蠻有趣的，也不算難懂，其實也沒多少精神分析成份；最好笑的還是東浩紀在後記裡寫他完全不同意齋藤環。
