语言自然、真切、感人,石黑一雄对于人物动作与心理的刻画极为真实生动。最感人的片段是文末在修道院重遇母亲的片段,母亲已然不认得他时,那种“子欲养而亲不待”的无奈,着实令人伤感。感觉全书有些瑕疵的部分是穿越战地寻找关押父母房子的片段,也许因为未亲历战争,感觉描写并非很真实...

he supposed fate was to face the world as orphans, chasing through long years the shadows of vanished parents. when he departed from childhood, reconstructing images of parents was helpful to lead a new life, that was every mother whose soft spots was her child surely sacrificed for. i cried for the love ishiguro dignified and his memory devoted.
