解構世間定義的“美”對女性無處不在的挾持，在齣版近30年後的今天仍振聾發聵。尤其喜歡寫female sexuality的"sex"一章以及寫整形美容的“violence"一章，非常深刻。部分觀點的具體論證似乎不是很令人信服，但總體值得一讀。2018年三八婦女節前夕購於倫敦查令十字街Foyles，Vintage Classics係列。
