馬丁•路德•金生平：

◆ 1929年1月15日齣生於美國南方佐治亞州，亞特蘭大，父親是一位教會牧師。

◆ 1948年獲得莫爾豪斯大學學士學位。

◆ 1951年獲得柯羅澤神學院學士學位。

◆ 1955年獲得波士頓大學神學博士學位。

◆ 1954年成為亞拉巴馬州濛哥馬利的德剋斯特大街浸信會教堂的一位牧師。

◆ 1955年12月1日，發起濛哥馬利罷車運動，從此成為民權運動的領袖人。

◆ 1963年組織瞭爭取黑人工作機會和自由權的華盛頓遊行。

◆ 1964年被授予諾貝爾和平奬。

◆ 1968年4月4日，下榻於洛林汽車旅館遇刺，結束瞭短暫而輝煌的一生。

◆ 1986年1月，美國政府規定每年1月的第三個星期一為馬丁•路德•金紀念日，並定為法定假日，金也是唯一一位非美國總統又享有此殊榮的人。
