道格拉斯·亞當斯（Douglas Adams）

1952年生於英國劍橋，科幻小說作傢、幽默諷刺文學大師，代錶作有《銀河係漫遊指南》《消逝世界漫遊指南》等，亦是活躍的劇作傢、音樂傢、環保活動者和演講者。2001年逝世，年僅49歲。

道格拉斯·亞當斯以《銀河係漫遊指南》係列作品在科幻迷中享有極高聲譽，該作品後來還拍成電影。亞當斯的早逝在科幻和奇幻社群中引起瞭極大的哀悼。在他去世的前些天，國際天文學協會的小行星中心剛剛將一顆編號18610的小行星命名為“阿瑟·鄧特”（《銀河係漫遊指南》一書中人物）。
