大二的时候，在图书馆看到了这本书。读完之后感慨良多，杜鲁门是一个很平凡的美国人，33岁的时候还在家乡的农场做厂主，后来参加一战由此开启了不平凡的一生。作者的叙述很祥瞻，文笔幽默，我读过很多人物传记，还是认为这是最好的。所以目前在读第二遍。

DM写truman这是绝配！俩人的质地也挺匹配的。就是非常啰嗦非常长..美国群众吃这套popular history的范儿...HST也是个绝顶聪明的人和FDR完全不一样的聪明。不过他毁掉了Stevenson的机会老了还略糊涂。
