給三顆星：一星給引的文獻算典型，一星給謝謝竪瞭個靶子，一星給129頁的長度沒有浪費彼此時間。不疼不癢復製粘貼一下唐代長安宋代開封珠三角的桑基魚田就能算曆史維度？羅列一下施堅雅的macroregion，流動人口，居民生活就算空間維度？總覺得怎麼跟修城牆的耿市長特彆般配………

作者的確把曆史和現實放在瞭一起，但是隻是在很少的情況下纔真正讓二者融閤——去探究曆史是如何影響瞭當下，後者怎樣反映瞭前者的痕跡。更多的時候，書中的曆史和現實和對未來的展望像是各說各話，這是共存（coexistence），但不是綜閤（integration）。

瞥瞭一下，小冊子大視野，傳統中國說當代，帶著溫情，不知道算不算英文文獻中介紹中國當代城市發展話題的獨一份。內容上，發生過的事情，感覺對中國人來說當然都沒什麼更新的東西瞭（精度上也是一些相對“粗略”但還準確的一些東西？）一些評價，想可能跟他一直的關注點有關？談瞭公共、市民社會之類，但最後落在sustainability，怎麼說啊，感覺怪怪的，看瞭眼日期2005，破案瞭。（不知道會不會再仔細讀瞭萍水相逢一份情（本人今天真的好貧看來是真的不想寫作業
