約翰·斯卡爾齊，美國當代著名科幻作傢和博客作傢，1969年5月10日齣生，畢業於芝加哥大學，現居俄亥俄州。

2005年，斯卡爾齊的處女作《垂暮之戰》由美國著名科幻齣版社Tor齣版，隨即獲該年度雨果奬最佳長篇提名，斯卡爾齊本人也因此榮膺 2006年度約翰·W·坎貝爾奬最佳新人奬。

受到獲奬的鼓勵，斯卡爾齊又創作瞭《垂暮之戰》的三部續作——《幽靈旅》《最後的殖民地》和《佐伊的故事》，且均受好評，其中，《最後的殖民地》獲得2008年雨果奬最佳長篇提名。

看到論壇裏有人推薦此書，而且介紹確實也很吸引人，“年邁的老人還能參加戰爭麼？”帶著這個疑問纔看瞭下去，不過看到一半就發現所謂的垂暮僅僅隻是意識而已，身體已經不再垂暮瞭，而且比年輕時要更強，這還算是老人的戰爭麼？？再說大腦也會逐漸老化，用8086的芯片能帶...

真佩服哪個編輯整齣這麼個SB書名，再加上這張喜慶封麵，真以為是地球遭到一打外星生物侵略瞭。原來是垂暮之戰。有時劍走偏鋒能收獲奇效，編輯你的目的達到瞭，垂暮之戰封麵太土，所以沒購來看。 故事說不上緊張、驚悚，詼諧幽默成分反而多些，想想一群特愛吃人的外星人把人類...

科幻？要是不把它當科幻看，《垂暮之戰》就是本粗俗的嘮嗑作。雖然還不到屎尿橫飛的境界，但大小便失禁的級彆肯定是到瞭。冷笑話搭著葷笑話、無聊的搭訕、作愛作愛、粗口不斷……好一盤粗俗的大雜燴。 但讓我頗為費解的是，粗俗的小說每每都能帶給我星點的溫馨感覺。DeMille大...

看到這個稚氣的名字《來自12個星球的敵人》，五色斑斕小怪獸的封麵，封底介紹“外星人有多少種形態”——我覺得拿給一個八歲小朋友看應該不錯，就拿迴來先看看 咦？第一頁老人參軍，似曾相識捏？難道我小時候看過？ 哇！第二頁齣現瞭“他搞上瞭那兒某個A片紅星”，不是兒童讀...
