The death of the ghost is a representation of hope, I guess.

The memory of holocaust never fades.

一方面是战争和屠杀留下的痕迹永远不会被抹去，以及他者之不能理解，另一方面也是所谓美国文化在波兰文化（以及其他）的映衬下显现的肤浅。虽然这种肤浅会帮人度过所谓的难关，可我们终究是不能永远逃离过往的。永远乐观，永远只看未来，将对过往的过度沉溺视作病态，这是太美国的思维，作者也即使在描述其反面，也没能跳出这层逻辑。但我们又何尝不是活在过去呢？
