埃德莎姆在麻省理工學院獲得瞭博士學位,曾於1979年-1988年間在麥肯锡工作,擔任過運營與製造業務部門的全球領導人。
離開麥肯锡之後,她創建瞭紐約谘詢閤夥人公司,並且擔任瞭13年的執行董事。
現在她擔任著數傢公司的戰略顧問,與若乾傢《財富》500強企業閤作。
