福斯特的第一部长篇，轻喜剧的剧情和人物，处理的却是重大的人生和文化课题，体现于其间的价值观既结实又微妙，稍有不慎就会有失去掌控，造成政治和情感“不正确”的危险。迹近完美的debut。马爱农的翻译可圈可点，遣词造句与原文的风格丝丝入扣。Great job!
