In so doing, he revealed the common experience as well as the downsides and the pitfalls of living in a modern world.

非常喜歡Berman的文字，很美國，豐富，清晰，有趣。很就以前讀瞭Robert Moses與紐約的那個章節，發現瞭對資本主義與城市設計新的關聯。之後上Modernity批判課時，讀瞭關於馬剋思的那章，立刻把現代性研究發展給理瞭一遍。可以跟Harvey的condition of postmodernity結閤來讀。非常inspiring
