这篇还是蛮有意思的，把追求transcendent good的love比作好的修辞，而追求满足的lust比作坏的修辞。好的修辞让人变更好，坏的修辞只满足欲望，不仅剥削了欲望的对象，同时毁灭了欲望者本身。书中用到一个Demus的例子，雅典美少年，高尔吉亚篇里强大的政客Callicles的欲望对象，比作坏的修辞，坏的修辞中，更加superior的Callicles不得不降低自身到年轻的immature或者inferior的Demus 的level来please him以满足欲望。而苏格拉底同年轻男生Phaedrus则不同，苏格拉底提升了P，同时是P的理想老师选择。他们之间的flirtation是P的transformation的象征。
