W.G.霍斯金斯（William George Hoskins，1908-1992年），英国历史学家，英国社会科学院院士，曾任教于莱斯特大学、牛津大学。他以研究英格兰地方史著称，在景观史研究方面做出巨大的开创性贡献，其研究领域还涉及考古学、城市史和农业史等。霍斯金斯撰有近二十部专著，《英格兰景观的形成》（1955年）是最具代表性的著作，另著有《英格兰地方史，过去与现在》（1966年）、《地方史中的田野调查》（1967年）、《掠夺年代》（1976年）等书。

梅雪芹，清华大学历史系教授，中国世界近现代史研究会副会长、中国英国史研究会理事。长期从事世界近现代史、英国近现代史和环境史的教学与研究。出版有《环境史学与环境问题》《环境史研究叙论》等著作，《火之简史》《什么是环境史》《大象的退却：一部中国环境史》等译作，在核心期刊发表论文数十篇。
