Vuillard1868-1940是法國那比派代表畫家。那比派不以中心透視法作畫，他們以光線、平面直鋪的方式見證生活的美感。Vuillard出生於法國索恩盧瓦爾省，深居簡出的他，生活空間不外乎蒙馬特這一區的窄小範圍，他有當時中產階級的生活，也在1890年開始創作，Vuillard1對於繪畫觸角的觀察敏銳，並且注重畫面間的和諧。他的作品與當時的畫家柯羅和夏爾丹相互影響，他也受到當時日本的繪畫影響，不過他所繪的作品大多是靜物或是生活在巴黎芸芸眾生下的生活剪影。他也受到舞台的吸引為許多劇場擔任設計繪畫的工作。不過他的作品透放出的氛圍，有人說歸功他對於文學的深刻品味，不過他的作品仍深刻的反映出當時巴黎的生活日常。
