原始佛學的教理不算復雜，因緣篇的“苦蘊緣起緣滅之中道”，五蘊篇的“五蘊無常-苦-非我”，此二法便可以解決一切法理上的睏惑，此二法也是世尊在菩提樹下所正覺之法，也是比丘證四果之關鍵，其餘的業報、輪迴、善惡趣、修行法等等眾多概念都是和很多外道所共有的，世尊隻是藉其所悟將之賦予瞭新內涵。字麵上理解雖不難，但想要有對之有direct knowledge，final knowledge，根除the underlying tendency，從經文中看起來，若不遠離塵垢而齣傢修梵行是不可能的。
