算是華語酷兒電影研究的裏程碑吧。做酷兒研究真的是，要入作者所言Reject uncritical gay liberationist point of view。我認為他在分析大陸context的時候忽視瞭除政府以外其他因素對context的貢獻。作者對所指和能指的二元結構以及建構性的分析、representation與minority的多重關係（曆時的建構、電影的産齣和接受）、西方gay liberationist ideas的單一性很啓發人的。很多地方對電影的文本分析也很細緻深刻，當然本書主旨problematics the construction of queer Chinese cinema，我部分贊同，但我認為還需要再討論。感覺自己在電影研究上還和專業的和學術的差得很遠。
