最初以为是借“寻找母亲”题材来写历史，后来发现，作者更多关注的仍然是历史之下的个人。关于六十年代的部分写得好极了。以及读到某一段，导致我终于在阴阳师金盆洗手。

首推Ari Fliakos的有声书每一个角色都有自己独特的声线。politics family love friendship business gay/lesbian child abuse畅销书的元素一应俱全作者想用各个角色反映大时代下小人物的复杂内心然而联系却很松散比如Pwnage跟Laura Potsdam的部分纵然诙谐也极具现实意义但跟主题的联系脆弱不堪一击 Faye的人格跟盲人摸象的关系也很牵强。说烂尾的盆友们给作者一个自我剖白的机会也没什么错吧。出版时间对应美国大选时机简直不要更精准！！

从去年读到今年，终于把它读完了。关于亲情的部分真是看得我泪流满面，你最爱的人却伤你最深，很多话无法说出口，只能forgive forgive forgive。这个主题也是，关于右派文化，关于消费时代，关于idealism and protests，切合时事得让人倒吸一口冷气。最后一章烂尾是最大的遗憾。#1

感觉就像是在看又一部Franzen的美式伟大小说，一本书里有十个故事，完全不担心篇幅每个故事都从头说起，涉及了社会历史现代方方面面，有爱情有亲情，看到最后是觉得很精彩只不过有点忘了为什么要绕这么一大圈了。
