Joli Jensen is the Hazel Rogers Professor of Communication at the University of Tulsa, where she founded and directs the Henneke Faculty Writing Program. She is the author of Is Art Good For Us? 读书时候每次写作文，从来没在规定时间写完过。写作文于我而言，就像是便秘。努力构思，挣扎许久，终于起了头，却怎么看怎么不满意，就像便秘憋出了个屁。也不能放弃，那就反反复复，涂涂改改，把开头写满意了，时间也就快到到了。这会才是文思泉涌的时候，嫌时间不够，嫌稿纸...  

在学术生涯中，我陷入过各种各样的戏剧性叙事中。我对自己、同事、院系、所在领域有着种种设想，以真理、正义、卓越之名全力以赴。这些叙事将我层层包裹，让我不能清醒地发现真实的情况，思考正确的应对方式。 我被这些魔咒迷住了，于是找出了无数貌似有理的借口，每天不去耐心...
