文笔太优美一定要读原文，再能耐的翻译也没法翻出原文的韵味。这本书出版以来连连得奖但几乎没什么名声，只因为：1）出版商不肯公开宣传这是一本gay novel，2）南北战争前后屠杀印第安人的残酷历史是他们不愿踏足的雷区。都什么年代了还有些人在想方设法掩蔽这些内容，真可悲。

真的太难读啦…plot一些战争的部分很懵，但很吃其prose这一套。双男主异装跳舞太美，从年少跳到年壮，跳到穿不下女装。Thomas对John一往情深，但感觉John对Thomas挺平淡的？看到前人短评，个人感觉确实没法公开宣传这是一本gay novel，两人感情不是大篇幅，也没有大进展，就淡淡的美。2017年西方不会有出版社害怕宣传gay题材吧？
