第一次看以澳大利亞貧瘠、乾旱的小鎮作為背景的驚悚作品。正敘倒敘交織並不新鮮，但有一股傷感縈繞不去，一種溫暖掩捲難忘。

四星半的老派偵探小說，對比近幾年的girl係列，Harper算是三觀最正的瞭，沒厭女情節，沒變態psycho，沒泥潭般的陰霾，至少感官衝擊還算剋製。懸疑主要在文字間築成，在迴憶與現實中交互推進。能看齣作者環境記者的經曆，乾旱的場景無處不在，衰敗的農村、局促的社交圈、因乾旱而處在崩潰邊緣的人們，帶著密不可知的過往與無以憑靠的未來前行...很多人在澳洲火災中重溫瞭Harper的這部處女作，讀罷會期待她的新作

這類書真的不是我的菜。節奏安排不是很好，一大半的篇幅都在鋪墊，但散落其間的綫索又太刻意，導緻結局既不意外也不精彩。人物刻畫的很膚淺，好像就是把一個簡單暴力的案件新聞扯成瞭一部書。還不如我關注的分析真實案件的“沒藥花園”公眾號文章好看。
