Yiyun Li is the author of four works of fiction: Kinder Than Solitude, A Thousand Years of Good Prayers, The Vagrants, and Gold Boy, Emerald Girl. A native of Beijing and a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, she is the recipient of many awards, including a PEN/Hemingway Award and a MacArthur Foundation fellowship, and was named by The New Yorker as one of the “20 Under 40” fiction writers to watch. Her work has appeared in The New Yorker, A Public Space, The Best American Short Stories, and The O. Henry Prize Stories, among other publications. She teaches writing at the University of California, Davis, and lives in Oakland, California, with her husband and their two sons.(From Amazon)

人类的孤独竟有相通之处

it's okay, you dont have to write in your mother tongue, and you dont have to defend yourself. 说不清是作者自己没想清楚还是vulnerable到戒备太强，语言反而显得仪式化，阅读感并不是很好

An intimate and candid account of her inner self.

李翊云的散文比小说更优秀。情感丰沛而内敛，而生命经不起拷问，这真是一本仿佛和朋友聊天的书。作为读者，想说一句“来信收到”。:)她会成为作家，这应该是在她中学时烧掉的日记里就已经打下的命运方向盘。She is a great writer for her nature and emotion, not skills or structure.
