感情綫很僵硬。但故事蕩氣迴腸，兩綫並行，引人入勝。

我發現隻要是historical fiction，我就會變得有一點defensive。哈哈哈哈。南部口音反而讓我覺得還原度更高，書裏麵簡寫/俚語用的非常多。迴到故事本身，我是沒看任何介紹直接買書讀的，後來和圖書館藉瞭audio book聽完的。剛開始真的有點暈，大概過瞭三分之一就變得比較好瞭。very captivating，這本書背後的故事纔是真正震撼人的。我想作者是故意把Avery設置成一個高高在上的角色，更有反差感吧，明明剛開始大傢其實是相同的境地。但就算有“美滿”的傢庭，真的能代替血緣和親情嗎？

can't believe that this really happened to thousands of kids. Inspired by the true story that took place in 1939-1950, Lisa Wingale sheds light on the real life scandal of Tennessee Children home society. Story is heartbreaking and full of sorrow but at least have a good ending. I like the May Weathers / Rill Foss storyline, but Avery line is farfe

兩條時間綫的故事交錯推進讓我不斷想發掘其中的聯係。關於田納西孤兒院的描寫像一部獨立齣來的冒險小說，為之心碎又有無限期待，想打五分。現在時間綫中的女主是按照完美女性打造齣來的無法讓人喜歡的人物。作者塑造她和trent兩人簡直類似ivanka and Jared，金發碧眼纔貌雙全，卻非要占領一切道德的最高點，為這倆人差點棄書。

不知道是該慶幸還是覺得不幸，基於現實改編的故事讓人窒息，想起瞭《約定的夢幻島》，兩位主角口吻敘述一開始是有點悶的。血濃於水啊，不過分散後的姐妹們居然各自都是精英階層有點太主角光環瞭，現實中可能是更加殘酷的，幸運的人可以以此更好的改變自己的命運。傢族曆史，這個確實是know who we are 的根本。女主很幸運的找到瞭自己也找到瞭自己的另一半。不過那段曆史的受害者卻是不敢再想很心疼。
