[美] 雷德•海斯蒂（Reid Hastie）畢業於加州大學聖迭戈分校和耶魯大學，在哈佛大學開始其學術工作，積極尋求校外研究的機會，在醫院和法庭中展開關於醫療和法律決策的研究。他的研究興趣在於認知心理學的方法和理論在判斷決策方麵的應用。他終生緻力於現實情境中的研究，包括醫療決策、法律決策、天氣預報、消費者和商業金融決策等領域。

羅賓•道斯（Robyn M. Dawes）1958年獲得哈佛大學哲學學士，後進入密歇根大學臨床心理學係。兩年後，他懷著對行為決策、社會互動和態度測量的興趣進入瞭數學心理學係（1963 年獲得博士），並在數學方麵完成瞭研究生教育。1985年鞦轉到卡耐基梅隆大學，在社會和決策科學係擔任心理學教授，他現在是Charles J. Queenan，Jr. 大學的教授。道斯發錶過150 多篇論文、齣版瞭6 部書籍。
