This is an introductory textbook on probability and induction written by one of the world's foremost philosophers of science. 这一本是非常初步的。在初步介绍了逻辑和概率基本知识之后，着重介绍的是bayesianism（belief-type）和frequentism（frequency-type）的区别。介绍的东西虽然入门，但很全，涵盖了这两个主流学派最基本的一些东西。技术性不强适合入门。
