So, we began the struggle to enter the work world, attempting to<br >balance work and family. We did this without any direction or guidance<br >and with very few role models. We were trailblazers, continually faced<br >with conflict and uncertainty. Neither husbands nor wives knew how to<br >handle the demands created when both partners worked.<br > Several years later, when I was responsible for developing education<br >programs for executives, I had the very good fortune to meet Drs. Jaine<br >and Jim Carter.
