新约历史批判有很好的科普书——Bart Ehrman的书很好。我一直想找一本讲旧约类似内容的科普书。终于发现了这本书，饶有兴趣地读了读。应该说这本书对于向我们这样的外行科普达到了目的。这本书很好读。像我这样甚至没读过圣经且对圣经内容不熟的依然可以轻松读懂。这本书对Documentary hypothesis是怎么回事是个很好的简介，并由此对摩西五经的historic criticism怎么回事都有了基本了解。从可读性和科普的角度上，值得的五颗星。但从Documentary hypothesis尤其是作者本人理论角度上说，并不太令人信服。主要是契合的过好了，且把里面写的历史（Saul以后）基本都证实了。这个太完美的太过了吧。去掉一颗星。
