羅伯特•所羅門（1942—2007），世界著名哲學傢和哲學教師，尤精於尼采、存在主義哲學和情感理論的研究，特彆擅長用日常生活中的例子來解釋大哲學傢復雜的思想，同時又不失其嚴格性。他生前是美國得剋薩斯大學奧斯汀分校的“Quincy Lee百年紀念” 講席教授和傑齣授課教授。他在密歇根大學獲得博士學位，曾在普林斯頓大學、匹茲堡大學和加州大學執教。他齣版過四十多本著作。

凱思林•希金斯（Kathleen M. Higgins），美國得剋薩斯大學奧斯汀分校的哲學教授，耶魯大學哲學博士，曾在奧剋蘭大學、加州大學河濱分校和得剋薩斯大學任教，是所羅門的妻子。她也齣版、編寫或與人閤編瞭很多著作。

如果從小學開始可以不學政治該有多好，也許我能提前建立一個比較可心的人生觀，如果我早點看到這本書該多好，這樣我就不會快20歲瞭還以為世界上的哲學傢都在討論唯心主義好還是唯物主義好這種無聊的話題。

正在看這本書，讓我想起瞭之前讀的《西方哲學十五講》。本書更加具有可讀性，也就是說引導性比較強，相比也是美國教育的問題，注重引導知識，而《西》注重給齣結論，告訴我們大儒們是怎麼做的，從而灌輸知識。個人更傾嚮於《大問題》，記得哪裏看過education的edu就是引導的意...
