但是这本书在书店翻了几页就吸引住了我，回头就买了kindle版。文字朴实，虽是那种不掉书袋的plain English但仍很抓人。这是关于一个有与其身份相符的道德感的神职人员、一个作恶一辈子但人之将死却良心发现的坏蛋、一个理想主义的法律界斗士的故事。

刚刚看完这本书。这本小说的感觉很像中国的纪实报告文学，甚至有点像小时候火车上经常贩卖的犯罪报告文学，封面上画着暴露的美女。开始的第一部分节奏略有一些缓慢，情节进展有点懈怠。后面的部分渐入家境，朴实的语言快速推动剧情的发展。但有时候叙述有些罗唆，有的地方...

不像我所期待的那种拍案与惊奇。一开始就知道了虽是真凶。读者要做只是等待，等待他慢慢悠悠的confess. 每个人物都没有足够深度的挖掘与描写，读完之后只有一丝遗憾，说不上特别喜欢谁，也没有特别的憎恨谁。 Kicking time book.

比之前的几部作品好多了，更有纪实风格，倒是少了点鼎盛时期作品的悬疑

五味杂陈，一个本可避免的悲剧。死刑的确值得商榷，逝去的生命无法扭转，谁能保证执行的是有罪之人？一个屈打成招的口供，一次次被司法系统背书的同意，难得有律师愿意耗费金钱时间为此抗争，也难得能在真相浮出水面后正义得到伸张、恶棍罪有应得。美中不足是，若不牵扯种族之争这个传统话题，书中事件估计无法如此轰动复杂，但也许更能具有震撼力。无论是Drumm、Robbie还是Keith，总算有了安稳的结局，在天朝，这些都是奢望。
