黑格爾(1770～1831)，德國古典唯心主義辯證法哲學的集大成者，徹底的客觀唯心主義者。他主張，理念是第一性的，它以純概念的形式在邏輯學中不斷發展，然後理念外化成為自然界，最後又在精神哲學的各門科學中迴復到理念自身。這樣，他建立瞭一個以理念為基礎的、包括瞭一切科學的龐大的客觀唯心主義體係。他在哲學史上的主要貢獻是，把矛盾看作一切事物的真理與本質，論述瞭辯證法就是對立麵的統一。他把整個的自然界、人類社會、人的思維都看作處於普遍聯係與發展變化中。其辯證法的不徹底性在於，他的作為“絕對真理”的哲學體係是絕對的、永恒不變的。馬剋思和恩格斯在創立唯物辯證法時，批判地吸取瞭黑格爾哲學中的辯證法這一閤理內核。主要著作有《精神現象學》、《邏輯學》、《哲學史講演錄》、《哲學全書綱要》等。後者分為“邏輯哲學”、“自然哲學”、“精神哲學”三部分，是對其全部哲學體係的闡述。
