On June 8, 2010, while on a book tour for his bestselling memoir, Hitch-22 , Christopher Hitchens was stricken in his New York hotel room with excruciating pain in his chest and thorax. Hitchens生前在名利场的最后一个专栏编辑而成，从无神论写到水刑，仿佛晚期癌症只是一个新的谈话的角度。结尾一篇零碎的笔记，未完成，翻过去就是太太写的后记，比Hitchens自己的文笔还要好，一样坚韧，直到最后的最后。
