I have finally understood what I have failed to grasp five years ago about this novel. Its suddenness and cruelty are what made it classic. Too much Noir is not good to health tho.

看这本之前，前几本看的都是英国女人写的书，太细腻柔美，看得简直像一个哈欠半天打不出来。终于看到这本美国男人写的，通体舒畅。

里面所有的人都很讨厌啊。Chapter7开始渐入佳境（一共八章），最后倒是一气呵成。Fitzgerald以后就叫他形容词大王了。
