no wonder this one can won the big award on Nobel and Pulitzer. It's written by a woman that live in China for very long time, a "local" foreigner, this story is so true and sometimes is so sad. It reflects some history of China as Wang Lung's life move on. I was so sad when I read Wang Lung get the Lotus to his house and when O-lan died.
評分"I can only write what I know, and I know nothing but China, having always lived there"
評分The way of Wang lung to getting rich was accidental, but the wealth did not make him forget the land. After a series of turns, he still returned to the land. I was so fortunate to live in the age of peace for the social status of women is low.The lifelike discription of peasants is used to enhance the sense of reality (before1934).
故事總體來說很一般,但是正如作者所說, "I can only write what I know, and I know nothing but China, having always lived there," 作者觀察的那個時代的農民的本質,還是很犀利的。 He became another lord.
