Forster的失望到底有多徹底？不止是兩個截然不同的民族不能相互尊重和理解，而且地理遷移和文化錯置甚至像《黑暗之心》一樣讓人的道德變質，英國紳士淑女的風度禮儀蕩然無存，一個個醜陋到極點。人和人的交流也總是磕碰糾結，要麼欲言又止，要麼謊話連篇，或者經常乾脆不知道是誰在說話。生活就像當地的氣候燥熱難忍毫無樂趣可言。讀這種書真煩死人。摔。
