Alice Ann Munro, née Laidlaw, is a Canadian short-story writer who is widely considered one of the world's premier fiction writers. Munro is a three-time winner of Canada's Governor General's Award for fiction. Her stories focus on human relationships looked at through the lens of daily life. She has thus been referred to as "the Canadian Chekhov."She is the winner of the 2013 Nobel Prize in Literature.

天气很糟，生意很差，生计问题够烦了！男人还老管不住脾气跟谁谁都吵架把客户得罪了！不懂体贴不会安慰人简直让人无法忍受了！然后我的小羊还走丢了！跟邻居希尔维亚吐了一下午槽感觉好多了！最妙的是她能帮助我远走高飞逃离这一切！这简直是太棒了！留了张便条我就坐上大巴了...

其实我很容易找一个原因说服你好好看一下这本书。 我一直觉得好的长篇小说（特指被翻译成中文的）就像掉在马路中间的金子，即使被压成饼沉进泥土里呆上个三五年，总会有发光的一天。可短篇小说集（也特指被翻译成中文的）虽然多如退潮后留在沙滩上的贝壳，但要找到喜欢又值得珍...
