Born in Canada and raised in New Zealand, Eleanor Catton, 27, completed an MA in Creative Writing at Victoria University in 2007 and won the Adam Prize in Creative Writing for her first novel, The Rehearsal, which was also long-listed for the Orange Prize and short-listed for the Dylan Thomas Prize. She studied at the Iowa Writers' Workshop as the recipient of the 2008 Glenn Schaeffer Fellowship. She lives in New Zealand.

因为kindle版减价所以买下来。想去搜一下plot剧透但发现goodreads和douban都没有就作罢。看了四分之一，感觉情节进展缓慢，语言啰嗦。每个人物性格都从第三人称角度来写，在旁观中剖析，让人没有和书中人感同身受的共情感觉。有点枯燥，也许是我不太喜欢看破案小说吧

这种事无巨细地描述角色性格、经历和行为动机有些让我想到《一句顶一万句》，两者因而也都必然触及了人与人之间的无法理解和难以排解的孤独。不过本书相比而言更温暖一些。占星的术语我并不能理解深意，灵异内容也略有些frustrating，并且Anna和Crosbie的过去让我觉得有些不太能理解，但除此之外没有什么觉得不满的。 Crosbie和阿苏故事最为让我悲伤。

实在看不完大约还有四分之一我弃了全程非常乏味淘金 seance 这样的题材都写不出好内容i don't know what?? 我好像还在网站上等了一阵子的蓝色软本偶尔丢一些占星知识出来也是非常浅显还不如占星术杀人事件有创意看的不是内容是期待

读了前面二十页已经有种弃掉的感觉了……这絮絮叨叨却又缺乏力度的文风我也是有点撑不起
