沃爾夫岡•希弗爾布施（Wolfgang Schivelbusch, 1941—）
德國曆史學傢、文化研究學者，1972年於柏林自由大學獲博士學位，研究領域為文學、社會學和哲學，現居紐約、柏林。沃爾夫岡是一名獨立研究者，不供職於任何一傢研究機構，他以精神史研究路徑而被人廣泛熟知，在觀念史與文化史研究領域也有所建樹，他將埃利亞斯視為主要的影響以及靈感來源之一。2003年於柏林獲海因裏希•曼藝術學院奬，2013年於漢堡獲萊辛城市奬。

評論有人在說這種純純的馬剋思的經濟／技術決定論為啥要扯上弗洛伊德，我覺得弗洛伊德那裏蠻好的啊，因為從另一方麵看也可以說是在現代人的精神史中定位火車嘛。
评分鐵路旅行的發展史還是挺有趣的 火車車廂的發明之類的與預想差距還挺大。感謝這本書帶給我們一次超酷的兩小時tutor+presentation。由鐵路旅行引發的遐想也很美。
评分馬剋思加弗洛伊德，熟悉的法蘭剋福風味。好處是材料收集得挺全的，用來找資料不錯。
评分T____T法蘭剋福水準的洞見和優雅（和馬剋思），完美的時間/空間、宏觀/微觀切換，看過的所有關鍵詞可以概括為“商品、技術、現代化”的書裏最喜歡的一本。問題當然有，比如中間提瞭一次對前工業時期的幻想之後好像自己也忘瞭這茬；再比如從legal liability解medical discourse但不知道為什麼戛然而止饒瞭弗洛伊德。彆的還得想想。
