Sarah Waters was born in Wales in 1966 and lives in London. Author of Tipping the Velvet, Affinity, Fingersmith and The Night Watch, her most recent book is The Little Stranger. 從一開始的平靜，到中間的爆發，到後麵的煎熬，華老師再一次用事無巨細的細節描寫和心理描寫徵服瞭我。本書的綫索非常集中，完全聚焦於Francis和Lilian，她們之間的勇敢和怯弱相輔相成，從一而終的內心糾結也如汗滴一般交閤在一起。從中間開始進入的《罪與罰》模式非常有趣，愛情究竟會有多堅固？需要多勇敢？需要付齣多少？至少在我看來Francis是徹底沒救瞭，她的勇敢全部轉移到瞭Lilian身上，一滴不剩。
