All of the Chinese translation of "liberal arts" seems nonsense. “博雅” is for the aristocrat only; "素质“ means something else in Chinese context; “通才” is close to the core of the concept yet too scary. It is paramount to a “天才”. Moreover, they do not address the enemy of liberal arts education ---- pure vocational education.
