Kimberley Hoang是今年ASA给我留下印象最深的青年社会学家。文笔和口才一样诚恳，附录中的田野笔记也是我在<街角社会>这样的书之后读过最有用的。书中我一度很担心她在第三章overtheorize了西方衰落与亚洲崛起对男性在言语中流露出对资本、对女性、对社会关系和对东西方认知的差异（见p51表格），但仔细想想第六章对女性desirable bodies的描述已经间接回应了前文的内容。Hoang面对的性工作者展现了更为自主的精神，没有被胁迫入职，而是赚青春饭，靠上层男性往上爬，游刃于男性、资本、权力、全球化的缝隙，结成台下的和同事和老鸨的姐妹圈，远远与street girl的境地不相同。其实很期待她能多对比一下08年金融危机前后越南性产业的变化，用的社会学理论太多了让书略失重点M
