盡管作者用一種冷靜和剋製的語調完成瞭敘事，假藉愛情和科幻的結構探索當代問題，無論這種敘事的嘗試改變瞭什麼，這個故事是真的很無聊。可能也是作者自身族裔的問題，在處理難民/移民身份上有點過度浪漫主義化。選擇瞭兩個非暴力的主角，真的就深入難民問題的核心瞭麼？或者本質上混淆瞭難民/移民的界限，（或者如今天上廁所牆上被人塗鴉的slogan一樣，）legality（移民） ≠ morality（難民）。這個“門”作為一種突破，既不閤法，也不道德。它並沒有體現一種問題思考，而是在假想一種廉價的“和諧”。
