Jenny Zhang把她媽媽為她宣傳新書的朋友圈發在瞭ins上，可以看到底下很多傢裏朋友的評論：恭喜張傢齣瞭文麯星，齣狀元瞭。可能這就是為什麼她筆下的內容無比obscene看著還是像好孩子說髒話。想起Lena Dunham很多年前關於the voice of my generation的笑話，這本書讓我覺得我們這代人中終於有人發聲瞭。很多情緒沒法用單一的語言代錶，但是還是有價值的努力。看acknowledgements的時候掉瞭一點點眼淚，因為感覺她像我的姐姐。

variations on the same theme: second-gens forever guilted and tortured by the insurmountable debt owed to their parents, who are constantly reminding them of said debt. some endearing and delicate descriptions of childhood emotions, but the repetitiveness of stories, lack of plot, focus on stream of consciousness emotions really drag it down

第一次看到chinese-American寫自己的移民經曆，可是也寫得太爛瞭。聽有聲書的時候機會要崩潰瞭。看到瞭第二個故事，borrrrring.
