Michael Ondaatje is the author of six previous novels, a memoir, a nonfiction book on film, and several books of poetry. The English Patient won the Booker Prize; Anil's Ghost won the Irish Times International Fiction Prize, the Giller Prize, and the Prix Médicis. Born in Sri Lanka, Michael Ondaatje now lives in Toronto.

太喜欢Olive了，在二战和冷战接连不断的创伤中，她就是自由和鲜活的化身，极尽洒脱~~真正的自由，是把自己还给自己。

我还是最爱Part1。读到中间段落其实内心里已经有些明了了，翁达杰在Part1里描述的十分动人，迷惘之下缺失且一直在寻找着的，不乏战火中与能引起共情的相同缺失，但同时也是在独有细腻之处串起种种片段。后面偶尔感觉有些脱离，但让我感受到并且沉迷于他的真切之处在于，寻找与迷失之下又不乏那对这世间即使毫无回路之处的缱绻与留恋。

封面很传神了：故事中加上迷雾、噪点，是伦敦的基调是战争的暗涌。作者的笔触是往故事上营造其颗粒感，过期胶卷与双重曝光。初期如同爱丽丝漫游仙境般，有种探险的刺激感。随着故事往前推进，就不再是一场愉悦的冒险了。是英国病人的味道（并未读过其他小说），语言依旧很美，但更为致郁一些。没想到后面还有讲到……布局也是很精心。有时候确实是能猜到故事的走向，所以可能略有点刻意。
