给五星的理由在于这书既没有把民主讲得很好，也没有把它讲得很烂。一边翻一边笑，因为其中很多看似“不正经”的观点是我很小的时候就有了的。怎样看待民主制度和事实层面的不平等对于决策的影响，缺乏民主信仰的人群是不是可以享受民主制度，怎样防止民主制度变成被政客利用的撕裂社会的工具，这本书对上述问题都有着非常圆熟的回答。民主在很多时候就是一场帮助为政者获得合法性的仪式，但仪式如果真能起到获得合法性的作用，它就不能仅仅是仪式。看了这本书之后你就能明白八十年代之后社会学家对于本质主义理论的批判了。也只有美国那样的环境才会产生这样的著作，换成欧洲就只有布迪厄那种“工人阶级没有政治观点”的所谓的对于民主的批判了。我并不是完全认同多元主义的观点，但我觉得这本书作者的态度可取，且写得也工整。值得推荐。

是pluralism的经典然鹅我个人比较倾向于精英主义我总觉得权力实际上还是掌握在少数精英手中看不见的decision making
