剛剛纔知道這本書還有另外一個譯名《東林怨》，巧的是，兩個月前剛剛讀完這本書的我心緒難平，寫下瞭一首更漏子，題目就取為《東林怨》，真是冥冥之中的巧閤啊。更巧的是去圖書館還掉這本書後，我從網上買瞭一本二手《魂斷東林》，扉頁上題瞭幾句話，正是本書譯者莊繹傳的筆記...

囫圇吞棗地算是看完瞭，主要還是不忍心細細看下去，太可憐瞭，不想虐待自己最近脆弱的心髒。最近為什麼又開始玻璃心瞭呢，我應該狠狠嘲笑書中愚蠢的男女來著。算瞭，放縱愛恨也不錯，有種歇斯底裏的快感（“戒酒”中，以大喜大悲聊以取代醉生夢死，不然可能會被生生無聊死）。...

斷斷續續讀瞭三個多月，終於讀完瞭...每次讀上兩章就有想要扔書的衝動...實在是無法理解這麼拖遝冗長的敘事，蒼白單薄的人物，矯揉造作的對白，當年是如何讓這部小說成為最暢銷的sensation novel的...莫非當真是彼時的營銷策略選的好...

第一部真正意義上看進去的原版小說一開始覺得女主神經質自作自受後來讀到她死前對Carlyle的獨白纔領會到她人生的悲劇所在這也真的是一場最完美的贖罪瞭很喜歡書結尾的一句話 “Every good thing will time that we earnestly seek.”
