In addition to explaining the significance of Nietzsche's analysis of Raphael, Durer and Claude Lorrain, he examines the philosopher's understanding of the visual dimension of Greek theatre and Wagnerian opera and offers a powerful new reading of "Thus Spoke Zarathustra".
