很少能夠靜下心來讀這種傢族傳記類型的書，但是不可否認，這本書的確能抓住你的心。可能本書是譯本，作者是美籍人，可能是因為這樣，所以你能從一個不同的角度看待從高中曆史書裏麵背瞭一遍又一遍的枯燥的史實，然後發現其實它像一本小說一般，也是有血有肉的。 ...

可讀性很強。不過“個人的曆史”和“大曆史”的斷裂感蠻明顯，貌似作者想實現的目標沒太實現……

這本書可讀性挺強，可以用來做課本。不過有點不知what to make of it. 不過不管怎麼樣，手上如果有這麼強的一組材料，還是值得寫一本的。像葉傢這樣的生命力和韌性還是很可觀的
