约翰•赫斯特（John Hirst），澳大利亚与英联邦权威的社会暨政治历史学家、欧洲史专家。现任墨尔本的拉筹伯大学（La Trobe University）历史系教授。赫斯特教授曾是澳大利亚首相咨询委员会、澳大利亚国家博物馆评议会成员，并担任澳大利亚联邦公民教育委员会主席至今，常在澳大利亚各大报章杂志为文，对公民教育的提升着力甚深。著作包括《极简欧洲史》、《澳大利亚人：1770年以来的民族精神知情者与局外人》、《命运海岸上的自由：澳大利亚的第一块殖民地》、《澳大利亚史上的睿识与胡言》和《寻找澳大利亚》等。

席玉苹，笔名平郁，卓越建树的台湾翻译家，四度获得梁实秋文学奖译文、译诗奖。台湾政治大学国贸系毕业，美国得克萨斯州理工大学企业管理硕士，现居高雄，专事译作、写作。译著包括《爱因斯坦档案》、《匠心独具》、《科学的新娘》、《21世纪三事》等三十余部。
